Cavalcada de Reis

Here 6.1. is Day of the Three Kings which is kind of another christmas for spanish people, or even more important day so of course they celebrate it greatly. I heard from our caretaker that on the eve there would be some kind of parade in the center. Of course we wanted to see it because it was our first Day of the Three Kings and first parade ever. We planned that firstly we would go to the PikPan, one Colombian restaurant we like very much and then we would walk to area where the parade would go.

 Luckily weather wasn't bad...

 New hoodies.

 Waiting for bus.

First time we went to the PikPan, we were exploring new area of the city and we started to be a little hungry and we watched restaurants' ads when some woman shouted to us "come here, we have delicious food etc etc..." so we decided to try, and after that we haven't regretted! Someday have to do some kind of post of foods we have eaten here.

 Patacon con ternera, muymuy rico!

 Arroz con pollo.

After eating we left quickly and walked towards the Plaza del Ayuntamiento and from Calle de San Vicente Mártir we found suitable place to stay. On both sides of the street were one row of seats but those were fully loaded because time was something like 17.30 and parade would start at 18.00. But luckily we were right after the seat row so we could see pretty well.

 Notice the temperature.

In that time there wasn't lot of people yet.

We had no idea what it's going to be so we hadn't been prepared properly. Every kid had own bag where they could collect candies, some parents even had umbrellas turned upside down. You had to come early if you wanted a good place so some parents had also newspapers to read and so on. But now we are little wiser so we know to prepare better next time...

The time is getting closer.

Exciting moments...

Different fire trucks.

The parade continued, and continued, and continued... Lot of more and more impressive vehicles, people with different costumes, circus actors doing their tricks, lot of police cars and fire trucks and ambulances etc... And almost from every vehicle they threw either candies or some toys to people. There were lot of nice things to see and of course our camera's battery died like in the middle of the parade.

Ahora podría decir algo en español pero tengo que volver a trabajar así quizás próximo tiempo...

Típica cena española

One friend we have met and with whom we have spent time here wanted to cook something to us before our guests went back to home, so last weeks wednesday was great because Ella was leaving on thursday morning. In the daytime we ate like nothing because we just waited for the dinner! We had many different foods, some typical Spanish food as paella and also some Chinese food and everything was so delicious! And it’s weird but that was our first time to eat paella even though it’s so typical local food that you can eat that everywhere here. Maybe we were a bit scared to taste because usually they put lot of seafood to paella. Our dinner time was also very typical for Spanish people, we start to eat something like at 11-12pm.

Now I don’t want to write anymore, I just put some pictures which describes more…

Paella is getting ready.

Salad and paella.

Clara keeping the desserts.

All enjoying great dinner together.

 Otto's favourite was salad...

...and paella was Jasu's, he asked more like four times!

Situations...

Pronto voy a escribir sobre nuestra visita a L'Oceanografic que es el acuario más grande de Europa...
